Är Putins Ryssland ett ekonomiskt misslyckat samhällsexperiment? Högst sannolikt
Till och från har jag de senaste åren läst och skrivit mycket om Ryssland helt enkelt eftersom det pågår ett intressant, och i väst inte särskilt uppmärksammat. samhällsexperiment. Det ett civilisatoriskt val i Samuel Huntingtons mening. Ryssland väljer i praktiken bort den halvhjärtade samhörigheten med den västerländska civilisationen för att helhjärtat bestämma sig för en modifierad samhällsmodell grundad i den egna rysk-ortodoxa civilisationen. Det behöver inte vara något problem, det finns länder som gjort just precis det och lyckats. Japan är ett exempel.
Den fråga jag försöker besvara är om ”Putins Sonderweg” har möjligheter att lyckas ekonomiskt i meningen förbättra Rysslands position i konkurrensen med omvärlden? Att ”lyckas ekonomiskt” definieras då som att Rysslands BNP per capita långsiktigt skall förbättras i förhållande till OECD-länderna. Ryssland skall börja ”ta ifatt” för att slutgiltigt, om den relativt högre tillväxten är uthållig, faktiskt komma i fatt och åtminstone nå samma BNP per capita nivå som genomsnittet av OECD-länderna. Tidsperspektivet är 2050.
Är svenskar intresserade av frågor om Ryssland? Det verkar så. För att ta ett exempel, “Vad skiljer Rysslands styre från västerländsk demokrati” (se nedan) har i nov 2020 laddats ner mer än 2 800 ggr.
